How to connect to remote Windows shared folder

On this Pear Linux tutorial, I will show you how to connect and mount the remote Windows shared folder on Pear Linux 6. By doing this, we can easily access the shared folder from Pear Linux 6 without having to browse manually.

Step 1. Open Finder (Nautilus file browser) on Pear Linux 6

Step 2. Go to File >> Connect to Server

Step 3. Enter the following details

  • Server = Your Windows/server IP address
  • Type = Windows share
  • Share = your Windows share name
  • Folder = /
  • Domain name = enter your domain name or blank if you are not in a domain
  • user name = your Windows user name
  • password = the user password

Now press Connect to start connecting. Once connected, Press Bookmark button on Nautilus to bookmark the share folder for later use.
