Install Unetbootin on Pear OS 8

Unetbootin is a handy tool to create a bootable Linux on a flash disk. With Unetbootin we can easily turn a USB flash drive into a mobile operating system. Its pretty simple to install Unetbootin on Pear OS 8. This software already available on Ubuntu repository. 

Install Unetbootin on Pear OS 8

sudo apt-get install unetbootin

When finished, Unetbootin shortcut will be listed on Launchpad. We can start creating a Live USB using Unetbootin directly. To create a Live USB, follow these steps:

1. Plug your USB thumb drive in.

2. Open Unetbootin

3. Browse the ISO file of the Linux distribution you want to use. Or if you have a fast internet connection, you can select the first option to download the files directly from the internet. 

4. Select the USB drive. Usually, the USB drive is known as /dev/sdb1 or similar. 

5. Press OK to start the process.

Please note that currently Unetbootin supports permanent mode for Ubuntu only.
