Turn Pear OS 8 into a multimedia server using Plex Media Server

Plex Media Server (PMS) is a powerful tool to turn our Linux into a multimedia server which provides centralized way to serve your home. This tutorial is going to show you how to turn Pear OS 8 into a multimedia server using Plex Media Server. You can then play the movie or music from other connected devices such as Android, SONY Bravia TV, SONY Home Theater and so on. 
First, we need to download the latest PMS package from the official website. 
Once downloaded, you can start installing the package. You can simply right click the DEB package and select Open with GDebi Package Installer or you can execute this command to install.
sudo dpkg -i plexmediaserver_0.9.8.6.175-88ffbb2_amd64.deb
Change the package name with your own.

plexmediaserver start/running, process 11531

Rebuilding /usr/share/applications/bamf-2.index...
Processing triggers for desktop-file-utils ...
Processing triggers for gnome-menus ...
Processing triggers for ureadahead ...
ureadahead will be reprofiled on next reboot

Next, start plexmediaserver service. Still in Terminal, execute this command
sudo service plexmediaserver start
Now open Google Chrome or any other web browser and type this address to open the PMS web management console
http://192.168.1.100:32400/manage
Change the IP address with your IP address. Or simply press Plex Media Manager on Launchpad.
